COLUMBIA, S.C.- South Carolina traveled to Gainesville, Fla., today to compete in the Southeastern Conference Championship and came home with an 11th place finish. Arkansas ran away with their fifth-straight women's conference title placing all seven runners in the top 17 for a score of 39.

Arkansas' Christin Wurth garnered first place in the six-kilometer race with a time of 21:04. Gamecock sophomore Jenny Lake was the top finisher for Carolina, placing 24th with a time of 22:43.

Senior Kinsey Eschenburg placed 61st with a time of 24:36. Freshmen Shay Shelton and Lauren Paige came in 71st and 73rd. Mary Claire Utsey posted a time of 26:05 to finish 76th well Mary Wright (26:29) and Sally Irvin (28:00) placed 80th and 82nd.

USC will head back into action on Saturday, Nov. 16 to compete in the NCAA Southeast Regional. The regional will be held in Greenville, S.C. and is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.

FOX Sports Net South will recap the 2002 SEC Cross Country Championships on SEC-TV Weekly on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
